David Finlay will miss another event because he is unwell. NJPW said in a statement that Finlay is not healthy enough to participate in Sunday’s NJPW Cup event in Shizuoka because he was sick on March 16 and missed his match against Hirooki Goto. Finlay dropped out of the event because he was sick.

Hirooki Goto and David Finlay were supposed to play in the New Japan Cup yesterday, but Finlay had to pull out because of an illness before the fight.

Finlay has also not been given permission to play in today’s event in Shizuoka. Sorry to disappoint fans who were looking forward to seeing Finlay fight. We appreciate your understanding.

Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and Hiroyoshi Tezan were going to be up against Finlay, KENTA, Chase Owens, Gabe Kidd, and Taiji Ishimori. Gedo is going to take his place.

The semifinals of the New Japan Cup will be held in Fukushima on March 18. The teams from Shizuoka will play in those semifinals. The tournament finals for this year are scheduled to occur in Niigata on March 20.
